Art Works for Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions and storytelling projects to address critical social and environmental issues.

The ASU College of Global Futures is committed to creating and providing curricular resources that span a diverse range of topics--including food systems, sustainability, quality of life and well-being, decision-making for sustainability, and much more. Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs is a global nonprofit working at the intersection of environmental science and the arts. Bow Seat hosts the annual Ocean Awareness Contest, inviting students worldwide to create art, writing, film, and other creative media to learn about and speak up against the climate crisis. Since 2011, Bow Seat has engaged with nearly 30,000 students in all 50 U.S. states and 138 countries.

C3 Teachers aims to empower teachers as they wrestle with the big ideas and instructional implications of the C3 Framework. Teachers play a critical role in helping students learn academic content using the C3 Inquiry Arc, which outlines the social studies habits of mind, disciplinary tools, and conceptual content that students need to become ready for college and career, and most importantly, civic life.  As social studies students map their own disciplinary inquiries, C3 Teachers embark on a pedagogical investigation examining and experimenting with their own practice as they support students’ questions, learn, apply, analyze, collaborate, express, and act in authentic social studies experiences. The Captain Polo Climate Academy was founded in June 2022 by Alan J. Hesse, a conservation biologist, author-illustrator and climate educator. The Academy leverages the cartoon polar bear character "Captain Polo," hero of Alan’s ongoing series of educational children’s books about climate change. Through the application of creative, actionable content and practical projects the Captain Polo Climate Academy aims to support teachers and empower children as agents of positive change for climate action and sustainability, both as future decision-makers and as current key influencers of their parents and other adults.

The Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2003 with the mission to make Education for Sustainability (EfS) an integral part of every child's K-12 learning experience. CELF engages educators, students and community leaders through award-winning programs that are designed to succeed in a wide range of education settings, including multi-day Summer Institutes, school professional development workshops, custom curriculum and instruction consulting, green career speaker series, and outdoor learning experiences. Citizens' Climate Education (CCE) is a nonpartisan grassroots advocacy organization that empowers individuals to educate key stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public about effective solutions to climate change. By training and mobilizing a powerful coalition of climate advocates, CCE builds political will for long-lasting climate solutions.

The CLEAN Network is a professionally diverse community of over 630 members committed to improving climate and energy literacy locally, regionally, nationally, and globally in order to enable responsible decisions and actions. The CLEAN Network has been a dynamic group since 2008 and is now led by the CLEAN Leadership Board established in 2016. 

Climate Central is an independent group of scientists and communicators who research and report the facts about our changing climate and how it affects people’s lives.

While most people have heard of global warming, few understand environmental feedback loops, which are amplifying and accelerating the process. In Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops, a series of five short films ranging from 8-14 minutes, 12 climate scientists explain how warming caused by human activity is setting in motion Earth’s own natural mechanisms, releasing additional greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and further heating up the planet. Out of dozens of environmental feedback loops, Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops focuses on four areas, explaining how warming in forests, permafrost, the atmosphere, and the poles work together to accelerate warming cycles.

Climate Generation is a nationally connected nonprofit dedicated to climate literacy, climate change education, youth leadership, and community engagement for innovative climate change solutions. Climate Generation empowers individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change. Their vision is a world of resilient communities with equitable solutions to climate change.

Climate Interactive is a non-profit think tank partnered with the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative that creates tools and resources to help people explore connections, play out scenarios, and see what works to address climate change, inequity, and related issues like energy, health, and food. Climate Interactive’s unique tools distill complex science and data into forms accessible to a wide range of audiences through interactive events, engaging curriculum, computer modeling, systems thinking, and organizational learning.

Climate Mental Health Network urgently addresses the mental health impacts of the climate crisis through education, community engagement and by harnessing the power of media and technology.

ecoAmerica moves society toward climate solutions by inspiring and empowering trusted national institutions and their millions of stakeholders in local communities across America to visibly act and advocate. Our mission is built upon our commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

EcoRise mobilizes a new generation of leaders to design healthy, just, and thriving communities for all. By teaching sustainability, design, and social entrepreneurship, their programs inspire youth to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities. For over 25 years, Global Nomads Group has leveraged technology to host digital safe spaces for young people around the world to share their stories, challenge assumptions, engage with and learn from each other, and, by doing so, foster a more just world.

The Global Oneness Project is a free multimedia platform offering multicultural stories and accompanying lesson plans as pedagogical tools to inspire growing minds. Their award-winning collection of films, photo essays, and articles explores cultural, social, and environmental issues from around the world with a humanistic lens. Aligned to National and Common Core Standards, their curriculum content contains an interdisciplinary approach to learning and facilitates the development of critical thinking, inquiry, and empathy.

The Goldman Environmental Prize honors the achievements and leadership of grassroots environmental activists from around the world, inspiring all of us to take action to protect our planet. Prize winners are announced each April, coinciding with Earth Day. They are celebrated with a live ceremony in San Francisco.

Green Schools National Network (GSNN) leads a growing network of school districts to embed health, equity, and sustainability from the classroom to the board room. GSNN helps them create, approve, manage, and monitor five year Sustainability Plans that transform the facilities & operations, leadership, curriculum & instruction, and culture & climate of every school. These plans drive impacts such as the reduction of carbon, energy, water, and waste in schools; climate education in every K-12 classroom; and local sustainability initiatives launched by students, staff, and the community. GSNN also brings districts together throughout the year to build capacity, develop leadership, and influence the sustainability in education movement.

Green Schoolyards America partners with school districts and public agencies across the U.S. to establish large-scale living schoolyard programs that transform school grounds into ecologically-rich, park-like green spaces. Our goal is to improve children’s health, learning, and happiness while contributing to communities’ ecological and climate resilience.

Jill Pelto is an artist and scientist whose work focuses on communicating human-environment connections. She incorporates scientific research and data directly into her watercolor paintings — from local trends to global changes. Jill’s artwork was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine in July 2020 and has inspired online features in Smithsonian and PBS News Hour. Jill has created a science-art activity based on this idea and has worked with K-12 students across the U.S. and beyond. By pairing graphical information with visual imagery, Jill hopes students can learn about and connect to climate change topics (good, bad, and in-between) in ways that educate and are emotionally relevant. This data-art activity is flexible and allows students to make their own graph art to share topics they care about.

The King's Centre for Visualization in Science is a research center committed to improving the global public understanding of science through research and the creation and dissemination of peer-reviewed interactive electronic learning tools to see and understand science.

Harvard University’s LabXchange is a free online platform for science education, created with support from the Amgen Foundation. It makes learning science online flexible and fun, with interactives, lab simulations, and more. 

Learning for a Sustainable Future is a Canadian charity founded in 1991 to integrate sustainability education into Canada’s K-12 school system. Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) is a national leader in Earth systems science education. PangeaSeed Foundation is a globally engaged nonprofit organization acting at the intersection of culture and environmentalism to further the conservation of our oceans. Its mission is to empower individuals and communities to create meaningful environmental change for the oceans by raising public awareness of critical environmental issues through SCIENCE, EDUCATION, and ARTIVISM (S.E.A.). Through their groundbreaking Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans public art program, PangeaSeed Foundation has created over 400 educational ocean advocacy murals in 17 countries, bringing the ocean into streets across the globe.

PhET Interactive Simulations at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students through an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery.

Population Education provides K-12 teachers with innovative, hands-on lesson plans and professional development to teach about human population growth and its effects on the environment and human well-being. Project Drawdown is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help the world reach “drawdown”—the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Project Look Sharp is a nonprofit, mission-driven outreach program of Ithaca College. Their mission is to help K-16 educators enhance students' critical thinking, metacognition, and civic engagement through media literacy materials and professional development.

Renewable English was created to help educators and learners in their quest to be more sustainable. In the first series of lessons, they look closely at traditional unit themes and look more deeply into our behavior, and see how we can easily make positive changes towards a cleaner, healthier planet. In the second series, they'll be looking at how to incorporate the UN's Sustainable Development Goals into classes. Stay Grounded is a people-powered, science-based, and action-oriented network for more than 180 member initiatives around the world. The network fosters mutual support and exchange of experiences, and campaigns for a reduction of aviation and its negative impacts, as well as against problematic climate strategies like offsetting emissions and biofuels. It develops materials and background information on multiple topics around the climate impact and injustice of aviation.

Take Action Global (TAG) is a leading education non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to climate education for all and equitable educational learning opportunities for global educators and PreK-grade 12 students. Over five years, TAG has served over 4.4 million students and educators from 157 countries through online learning programs and has supported over 2 million tree plantings. Take Action Global brings communities together in online spaces for authentic learning experiences, including Climate Action Project, Climate Action Day, and Climate Action Schools. The Water Footprint Calculator is a website that gives educators and students innovative tools and content about water use and the water footprint concept. The website contains the Water Footprint Calculator tool, high school and middle school lesson plans, in-depth information pages, water-saving tips, reports and more. This educational content helps students recognize that consumption of food, energy and consumer goods has a greater impact on their water consumption than they might realize.

WhyMaker supports educators by delivering excellent professional development that helps students have better days in the classroom.

Established in partnership with the Bezos Earth Fund, WRI’s Electric School Bus Initiative collaborates with partners and communities to build unstoppable momentum toward an equitable transition of the U.S. school bus fleet to electric by 2030, bringing health, climate, and economic benefits to children and families across the country and normalizing electric mobility for an entire generation.

The Yale Program on Climate Change Communication conducts scientific research on public opinion and behavior. They also engage the public in climate change science and solutions, in partnerships with governments, media, companies, and civil society.
