Synopsis
- This interactive map and list of answered survey questions about climate change and environmental conditions shows students what people in India believe, know, are concerned about, or have experienced.
- Students will be able to select different questions to see how people responded in different regions of India, look at the data for each question, and click thorugh the tabs at the top to read about the questions, methodology, download the data, or see the FAQs.

Prerequisites
- Students should already be somewhat familiar with India.
- Students should also be familiar with climate change.
Differentiation & Implementation
- In pairs, students can focus on one of the questions to analyze on the map, and report their findings to the rest of the class.
- Students can compare these climate opinion maps with those from Ireland and the UK,
- If students will be exploring the maps independently, teachers may want to give them a demo for isolating states, toggling between states and districts, and changing the map.
- Teachers can have students practice manipulating the map by having them answer a variety of different questions, such as, "What percentage of adults in Assam believe global warming is affecting severe storms?" and "What percentage of adults in India support a national program to teach all Indians about global warming?"
This resource breaks down the knowledge, beliefs, and concerns about climate change in India. Results from a survey are displayed in an interactive map and simple figures. The webpage also includes information about the survey study, including methodology and the raw data. The information presented is accurate, and this resource is recommended for teaching.
