Synopsis
This resource contains multiple activities that inform students about sustainability, climate mitigation strategies, microfibers, and some other topics that are related to climate change.
Students can engage with activities that consider the sustainability of one's wardrobe, a project that allows them to create a poster that raises awareness about climate change, interactive tool that provides students with a framework for solving climate change, get a background with ARCGIS, and experience many other activities that are available in the collection.
The En-ROADS interactive tool has connections to MIT and is an engaging and interactive tool for students to use.
One of the activities involves painting, which is great way for students to express themselves.
Additional Prerequisites
In order to download any of the toolkits, you have to provide some contact information.
It may be beneficial if students already know what sustainability is and how it relates to energy use and climate change.
Differentiation
Teachers can use the Tree Equity Score toolkit as a conceptual introduction to environmental racism.
Students can use the Upcycling and Innovation toolkit for a research project on different methods of increasing personal sustainability.
The Tree Equity Score toolkit can enhance a classroom discussion on how climate change impacts the health of some groups more than others.
The Seed Bomb toolkit can support a lesson on how climate change impacts ecosystems around the world.
